Congrats on the forum Andy, It looks really good!KillYourInnerLoser wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 2:14 pmKeto / carnivore.
Basically nothing but meat, and as much meat as I want (I'm not counting cals). That's literally it. Haven't been exercising (since lockdown started).
It took about 2 weeks to adjust (during which I craved sugar like crazy, and had no energy). Once that was over, I had literally zero hunger throughout the day - I now eat basically one meal a day in the evening. That's not an intentional thing; I'm just not hungry until about 4/5pm.
I hate counting calories as it stresses me out counting everything and not getting calories exactly right + the split of macros etc, So this was something i was wondering as well.
If i was going to do the same method you used, could you give us some examples of your meals? like how much you would eat etc? Im going to go to carnivore / Keto diet for a few months and try to get to around 10% - 12% BF.

Dashed warned me your T levels might severely crash on keto
But as I've never actually tried it I'm curious if it will work for me
What I'm doing now could be more or less described as IIFYM

Im going to try this too. Its kinda hard to buy meat here that i know what it is but even i have to just buy a bunch of steak / chicken / some fish etc i will just try to make it work. Keto diets have always worked better for me anyway.

Yep, Ive started already. 400G of beef and some broccoli. I was a bit unsure of what to buy in the store as well as the date to use them by etc but got enough for the week (Im also adding eggs which i guess is ok for some meals) and veg as well (Frozen green beans + Broccoli will be the main ones). Ive done the steak and eggs diet before (Which worked until i couldn't stomach another steak) . My only issue would be drinking alcohol (like once a week or so) but other than that think ill be able to stick to it.

But what i mean is, did you lower the calories or portion sizes at all after 2 weeks, 4 weeks etc like normal diets or do you think you just ate whatever and some days were higher and some were lower?KillYourInnerLoser wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 7:01 pmI'm definitely eating less calories. But it's NOT intentional. I eat as much meat as I want... It's just hard to eat a lot of calories when it's only meat.
A lot of days I eat fatty meats like bacon, steak with lots of fat, etc. I still seem to lose weight.

If you're not quite sure on your macros yet bro check out Ketogains calculator https://ketogains.com/
It allows you to key in your current body fat (can do visual estimate if you can't be bothered measuring like I couldn't), activity level, routine etc. Then it literally gives you your macros depending on your goal - cut, maintain, build. It's been an invaluable resource for me since starting keto during lockdown. There's also a connected subreddit that is really useful, particularly if you're new to low carb because your body works differently when you make the switch and there's a few things worth noting.
