Cold Approach for Long-term relationship

can the cold approach result in a long-term relationship, I feel like every time someone talks about the cold approach they are only in it for hookups, What if I want something serious? Can the cold approach work for this?

My last girlfriend I met at the club, however, we really only got serious cause she had known my friends and they vouched for her so I'm sure it's possible.

Well, hookups can definitely turn into relationships. My last girlfriend was originally an FWB - then we got to know each other and found that we shared similar interests, life goals, etc. Lasted 2.5 years.
