I like it but one modification -- instead of considering yourself starting all the way over at day 1 when you fail, what if you just subtract a day?
so it'd be
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3 (fail)
Day 2 (restart)
Day 3
Day 4
Day 5
Day 6 (fail)
Day 5 (restart)
--
but keep track of how many days you get in a row and don't consider yourself officially done until you hit 75 days in a row
I find that starting all the way over at day 1 often feels really demotivating and it makes it that much harder to keep going. I play music and one exercise we have is to put 5 quarters up on the piano and give yourself one quarter whenever you play the part correctly and take one away whenever you play it wrong. sometimes you end up back at 0 quarters, sure, but the most important thing is that you never stop trying -- so you ultimately get more practice in anyway
