You’ve been struggling with happiness… maybe just recently, maybe even your whole life.
You think happiness is something you have to do, something you have to work on, something you have to achieve.
You see happiness as a goal; an achievement; a success.
You think happiness is out there; in the clothes you wear, the fancy cars you want to buy, the latest iphone, the man or woman on your arm or in your bed, the number of dollars in your bank account, the likes on your social media posts or the number of followers you have.
But happiness isn’t out there.
It isn’t a goal.
It isn’t external to you.
Happiness is something you already are; it’s something you already have.
Happiness is already inside you – you just didn’t think to look there.
You were so busy looking outward at external things: money, sex, power, losing weight, achievement, success, goals, fame, status, things, objects. You imbued these external things with a kind of glamor; a “specialness” that you completely made up to sell yourself the lie that you’re not allowed to be happy until you “get” these things, as if happiness is something you have to seek, or earn, or get, or do.
You were so busy focusing on the external world, on external things, that it never even occured to you that happiness might already be inside you, right this second.
I’ll show you, right now.
Close your eyes, gently.
Slow down your breathing a little… in… and out… in… and out…
Nice and relaxed. Let your body chill a little – it deserves a break. You’ve hustled and grinded and run your body ragged trying to find that happiness thing everyone’s busy stressing about.
So just relax… everything is ok.
And everything’s going to be ok.
Now let your mind wander to a time in your life when you were happy; truly, deeply, profoundly happy.
Think of the most beautiful moment of your entire life; a moment that filled you with so much joy and happiness you thought you wouldn’t be able to handle it.
Maybe you were so joyful in that moment you actually cried happy tears.
Think about what you were doing at that time… let the memory play itself out in your mind.
Be there now.
Be in that moment, with that memory.
Let the moment take you over.
Think about how you were feeling, in that moment.
Think about who you were with, or if you were by yourself.
Think about all the things you could see in that moment.
The things you could smell.
The sounds you could hear. Remember them now.
Transport yourself to that moment… and remember how it felt.

Now, very slowly, gently, open your eyes again.
Come back to the now.
How do you feel now?
Do you feel… happy?
And so you see. Happiness isn’t hard… it’s right there. It’s right here. Always in you. Always with you. Always just a single thought away, if you let yourself pause for half a second to just….. be.
Happiness, love, peace is what you naturally are… you just didn’t realise it.
You already have everything you need… you just didn’t stop to notice it. To remember it. To be grateful for it.
And so we be grateful now; we let ourselves be thankful for this moment. For today. For happiness itself. For love. For this moment right now. For the gift of life itself.
Anytime you want to feel happiness, you can just do this meditation again.
It’s available to you 24/7; always there. Which means you’re always allowed to be happy, anytime you want, no matter the circumstances.
No matter what you’re experiencing, or feeling, or thinking; happiness & profound peace always dwell inside of you.
Sometimes it just gets a little hidden away behind our emotionality; like the sun hiding behind the clouds. The sun never leaves, it never goes away, it’s never diminished… the clouds just obscure what is always there, just a little beyond our immediate view.
And meditating like we’ve done here today is just one of millions of different ways you can let yourself be happy. There are millions more meditations, tools, techniques, ways of letting go, contemplations, activities, hobbies, connections, intimacies that all allow you to feel the happiness that’s right there inside you.
So many paths lead you right back home to yourself; isn’t that nice. Plenty of options. Happiness reflected in millions of different experiences.
And congratulations – you’ve done something really amazing here. A pretty amazing gift, given to you, by you.
And if you struggle to come back to this moment, this peace, this happiness – that’s ok. I used to struggle in the beginning too; most people do.
The more you practice letting yourself just be happy, the easier this gets. I promise.
Practice it enough, and eventually happiness takes over you; happiness is what you become. You become the living embodiment of happiness, peace and joy. You become love.
And eventually it rarely – or never – leaves you, no matter what you’re going through in life.
Everything is ok.
Everything is going to be ok.
You are happy.
You are safe.
You are provided for.
You have everything you need, already inside of you.
You’re doing great. Even if it doesn’t always feel like that.
You’re on the right path. Just keep going; just keep being you.
Because you, is pretty damn special; you’re the only one on this entire planet who’s qualified to be you. So be the best you, you can be.
