But seriously… being ghosted can sting sometimes, because it’s very easy for it to feel personal. When you’re in the beginning stages of working on your dating/sex life, it often feels like a judgement of your worth if you get ghosted. It’s almost like someone looked at you and said “Not good enough” (Even when that’s almost NEVER what actually happened). Our brains then like to fill in the blanks with every fear/insecurity/doubt we’re already carrying.
But ghosting rarely means any of that.
People ghost because they’re overwhelmed, insecure, unsure, busy, avoidant, or dealing with their own stuff. Ghosting is almost always a reflection of them, not you. And the more you internalise the ghosting and beat yourself up over it, the more power you give to someone who wasn’t even honest enough to send a sentence & tell you they want to end things.
Your job isn’t to chase down people who won’t communicate. Your job is to just do the best job you can do with your communication, and what other people do with that is none of your business. Your job is to stay grounded, keep your self-respect intact, and move forward with warmth and openness. You’re building yourself into a man who can handle rejection with grace — a man who stays kind even when others aren’t.
So take the loss with a smirk. Wipe the dust off your crown. And remember: if she ran, she was just intimidated by the sheer radiance of your face. It happens.
