Today reminded me of something important:
Nothing that happens to you is ever truly wasted.
This morning I ran Day 1 of my December livestreams. I was nervous — terrified no one would come. But thirty or forty people showed up, asked questions, shared their hearts, and one guy wrote:

“I leave this livestream feeling way better, even a bit of tears in my eyes.”
I almost cried reading that. It hit me how unbelievably kind people are to me.
And how much goodness life gives when your heart is open. After the livestream, I went to a medical appointment — and the machine was broken. So I’d gone all the way there, “lost” 2hrs of my time, and had to go all the way back home (paying for an Uber to – and from – the appointment). Old me would’ve called it a waste of time, money, and energy.
But today?
It felt like a little adventure.
I got to hug the woman running the appointment. She was stressed, flustered, and feeling like she’d let everyone down. I told her she was doing a good job. When I got home, I sent her a message reminding her everything would be okay.
Maybe that was the real reason I was there.
I talked to two Uber drivers — one on the way there, one on the way back.
The first conversation was curious and deep.
The second was with a lovely grandmother who talked to me about her grandkids and how grateful she is to live near the beach – she put such a huge smile on my face, the entire ride.
None of that would’ve happened if the machine had worked.
Nothing was wasted.
Not the ride.
Not the time.
Not the money.
Not the misadventure.
Every moment was a little gift —
a chance to be present,
to connect,
to soften,
to give a tiny bit of love to strangers,
and to receive a little back.
Life isn’t punishing you.
Life is handing you adventures you’re too busy labelling as “bad.”
If you could drop the story —
“this shouldn’t have happened,”
“this is a waste,”
“why me?” —
you’d see what’s underneath:
A universe constantly throwing small adventures your way.
A chance to practice gratitude.
A chance to be resilient.
A chance to be loving.
A chance to grow.
If something goes “wrong” today —
maybe it didn’t.
Maybe it’s just an unexpected chapter in your story.
Nothing is ever wasted
when your heart is soft enough to see the goodness in everything.
