This self-improvement journey can bring up a hell of a lot of doubt, insecurity, limiting beliefs, worries you’re not good enough, feelings of rejection.
It’s so easy to feel like you’re never gonna make it, that nothing you do really makes a difference, and that you may as well just quit. Trust me, I’ve been there a million times.
The thing is, success doesn’t require you to believe in yourself. I sure as hell didn’t believe in myself when I started my self-improvement journey. But other people believed in me – people on the GoodLookingLoser forums I was on, my friends, my accountability partners, and the coaches and mentors who’d already walked the journey and told me “You can do it too” (hence my website motto: “You sure as hell can too“).
I don’t think you’re supposed to believe in yourself when you first start your journey; why would you?
You don’t yet have the evidence that you can change.
You don’t yet have the evidence that you’re capable.
You don’t yet have the evidence that you can be somewhat-consistent and take baby steps each day.
And confidence without evidence is called arrogance/delusion.
But here’s the thing – I believe in you, even if you don’t yet believe in yourself. Plenty of people saw the potential in me and pushed me, helped me, guided me, supported me, loved me, gave me advice, and made me a winner… even when I felt unworthy, not good enough, and hopeless.
So many people gave me motivational pep talks, told me to “shut up and just go hit on that girl, dude!” even when my head was full of doubts, insecurities, “what ifs”, excuses and limiting beliefs. There is no way in hell I could have started hitting on girls by myself, let alone built my website, my YouTube, my coaching business, and everything else I’ve done.
All of this is me trying to say – it’s completely ok if you don’t believe in yourself. You don’t have to. That’s not your job; your job is to let people help you, and to just take action, even when you don’t think it’ll work out. In other words, have faith in the process, have faith in the people telling you you can do this, and just get to work.
I absolutely promise you, you are capable of change. You are capable of hitting on women, or building that business you’ve always dreamed of, or losing weight, or building an awesome social life. You can do it all (and more) – even if you’re convinced you can’t.
Feel the fear and do it anyway. (That’s all I’ve ever done.)
I promise you’re capable.
Change doesn’t require massive, monumental leaps; it starts with small, tiny, little, pathetically-small baby steps. Start right now by setting 1 goal, and then take a step towards it. Over time, these little baby steps add up into something pretty transformative.
And if you want more help with this, now’s the perfect time – I have a coaching deal on at the moment. You’ll get $2000 off the price + an extra 4 weeks of coaching if you sign up in the next 28 days. Just mention this deal when you apply here.
Even if you don’t fully believe yet, that’s okay—I’ll believe in you enough for both of us.
You’re worth this journey. I promise.
